HOT WATER!
Check out the hot water heater and the new sink. There is a Lavatory Cleaning Schedule posted on the door. Don't forget to check the schedule to see which weekend is yours to clean the toilet. Supplies are always welcomed and a new decor would be nice. (Donations only)

The Vineyard in 2009
Welcome to Sandyland Vineyard
John's Water Globe Collection will be on the auction block this weekend on KWHW 1450 AM's Swap Shop. Call early to get your bid in!!!
Look closely at the new seat on the camo three wheeler. This handy bike saves a lot of walking back and forth to the barn for cold beers. You have to get here early to claim driving rights.
The basket is handy to carry tools, supplies and a cold beer.
Notice the graveled road. Please bring a bucket of gravel each time you come to the vineyard.
Always there to remind us of those birthdays...Look how clean Scott and John keep the shop. It is always swept and clear of trash.
Here is the spray rig in question. It is mounted on a four wheeler owned by JBH. As you can see, the tank is so small you would need to refill the tank a few times just to complete spraying large areas.

A handy tool used to twirl the wires neatly and fast. It is similar to a pepper corer. Wonder if it will work with peppers?
These brackets were placed on the t-bars and the bent re-bar posts and secured by the u-bolt and then the double trellis wires were attached to each end. I got to do this and used PLIERS all day to close the little gates on each end to hold the wires intact. Yea me! I have graduated from a hammer.
Save your bottles if you want any wine!!!
New hairdo does not like the SW winds blowing through Sandyland. Tailgate location has been changed to the vineyard during the off season.
Mom's radio provides contact with the outside world. Ballgames, Swap Shop and weather warnings are readily available. And the red and green dots are for those that can't read the small print.
Just in case there is any doubt!
This handy tool was designed by Scott. We need to market it to other farmers and vineyard owners.

Rough Pruning Feb 2009
We added metal brackets to the t-posts and then we strung the double trellis wires.
Freshly pruned 2007 crop! See the short fruiting canes(or spurs) coming up. There are 7 per cordon (2 cordons per trunk) and 2-3 basal buds per spur. We will prune again this spring to take off some of the unwanted canes.
