Sandyland Vineyard

I have created this blog for our family vineyard. My 5 siblings and I decided to start a vineyard after the death of our father, Bryce Henderson in July of 2006. In April 0f 2007 we planted 800 grape plants that we purchased from Paulo in New Mexico. The varieties are Reisling, Sangiovese and Chenin Blanc. We met on a cold and windy day in southwest Oklahoma to begin our venture together. The 5 acre plot within the Sandyland farm had been prepared by John and Scott prior to our first planting on April 15, 2007. We planted our 2nd crop on April 12, 2008 with an additional 1200 plants. The plants are thriving as we look forward to "Free Wine in Oh,Nine".
